What did you do this project? In this project my class explored the ideas of joseph campbell and learned of the hero’s journey. The hero’s journey is in a lot of movies, stories, even video games I never knew it was in. during this project we watched movies of good examples of the hero’s journey, we read two books with the elements of the hero’s journey the alchemist, and siddhartha, I liked both books they had a good plot and it was easily seen how they fit with the hero’s journey. We then listened to each other stories we took from out of our personal lives. Some even fit with the hero’s journey but not all of us for of course we are not book characters so we don’t have as crazy tales. The exhibition was at animas theater and only a handful of students got to tell their stories but everyone's was printed and put on display for everyone to read.
How did you grow during this project? This project changed my view on things and people in the world. I got to get to know my classmates a lot more this project I got some insight on their life before I met them. I learned of different cultures and different people thoughts on the same subject. This project opened my mind in possibilities of real life hero’s journey. I can now spot points in the hero’s journey in movies, books or games as I experience them. I’ve become i stronger reader and writer throughout this project from all the books I read and all the things I had to write o many times.
what did you take away from this project?
What I took away from this is to love life and everyone in it. In the stories told there was some were people lost someone or an animal and there lesson at the end was usually like cherish who you got because you have limited time with them. Then there was just to be grateful even if something bad happens cause it could have been a lot worse. Writing my story I remembered to live free and the way I want, to be your own not based off of someone else's thoughts about you.
